Miriam's Well has proven to be the perfect container for many different kinds of events. Since 2000, we have hosted many workshops, classes, gatherings and parties of our own creation. Now we are offering our facilities to be rented by others for their own activities and meetings Most gatherings take place in our handsome, cozy Yurt. At 735 square feet, it can accommodate as many as 40 to 50 seated people. Its interior is carpeted, heated, and air-conditioned. Heating is provided by a gas hearth. There are windows all around, a skylight, and a central fan to help keep the climate comfortable. Lighting is flexible, to create the desired ambience.
The five wooded acres of Miriam's Well are imbued with the spirits of nature and the indigenous peoples who first occupied the land. Seasonally, there are views of the Hudson River, and year-round there is an atmosphere of beauty and tranquility. Near the yurt is the warm and comfortable home of Susan & Richard Rosen, the founders of Miriam's Well. Meals can be served in the dining room or on the fifty-foot deck around the lovely freeform swimming pool, enhanced by a waterfall and gardens all around. In the house, we can provide overnight lodging for up to 15 people. For outdoor gatherings, in addition to the pool deck there are a pool terrace, a meditation pond, lawns, a stone labyrinth, a medicine wheel, benches, a shady hammock, and several gardens, including a Japanese garden. Our parking lot can accommodate up to 30 vehicles, and if necessary there is additional parking on the quiet residential street nearby. Rentals can be for use of the Yurt and grounds only (plus use of a restroom in the house), or may also include use of the house, deck and pool, overnight accommodations, and staff support. We are pleased to offer the facilities of Miriam's Well for your event. It's an ideal spot for an intimate gathering, year-round.
Furnishings include tables large & small, and a large number of comfortable, padded folding chairs, as well as pillows and a number of "back-jacks" for people who prefer to sit on the floor. There are a couple of easels for flip-charts. There is a 46" monitor, a BluRay DVD player, a VHS player, and a 5-CD changer. We have a hand-held microphone, a Lavaliere mike, and other mikes are installed for easy audio recording of proceedings.
